L. Lloys Frates is a Principal at the Renewable Resources Group (RRG), a Los Angeles-based company that acquires and develops assets in the renewable energy and sustainable water sectors. She has been active and has held leadership roles in numerous labor, political, environmental, and social justice campaigns in the U.S., Moçambique, and South Africa.

Lloys is an Executive Board member of LALCV, was a founder and serves on the Executive Board of EndOil, is an Executive Board member of the Lusophone African Studies Organization, and is a member of the International Women's Forum.
