Gary Gero

Gary Gero serves as the President of the Climate Action Reserve, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization headquartered in Los Angeles, where he is responsible for ensuring that the organization’s work to certify greenhouse gas emission reductions meet the highest standards for quality, transparency and environmental integrity. The Climate Action Reserve is widely recognized as the most trusted and highest quality offset program in North America and is considered the most likely to serve regulatory compliance markets.

Gary is also a member of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s Energy and Environmental Markets Advisory Committee and serves on the Steering Committee of the California Sustainability Alliance.

Mr. Gero previously managed the Green LA programs for the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power which included the energy efficiency, solar photovoltaic, tree planting, and related initiatives. Gary also served as the Assistant General Manager of the City of Los Angeles Environmental Affairs Department where he focused on air quality, sustainability, and climate change.
