Elections

Believe it or not. The best thing you can do to protect the environment is elect strong environmental leaders. But all politics is local. The national political leaders of today were the local political leaders of yesterday. Likewise, the local leaders of today will become the national leaders of tomorrow. That’s why it’s so important to get involved and to remember to vote.

Of course, in LA County that’s often easier said than done. Despite cities being located in the same county, different cities hold their elections at different times. Election Day in Maywood is not necessarily Election Day in Long Beach. Each city also has its own set of election guidelines and characteristics. For instance, in some cities the mayor is an elected seat; in other cities, city council members take turns being mayor for short periods of time. That doesn’t even get into the difficulty of knowing where various candidates are on the issues important to you.

That’s where we come in to help you find out what you need to know!
